 I backed him against all the doubters here. The same people saying Cora should get more time. And against the few on here who thought he was expendable and Lowrie could easily take over.

Dude, I made this thread and I said nothing of the kind.

Cliff Lee should be the MVP.

Not a bad choice..but I disagree.. Cliff Lee is not fit to shine Pedro Martinez's shoes.. and yes I know this is a thin MVP candidate pool, but I cannot cast my vote to ANY Pitcher if Pedro didn't get an MVP for years 1998-2001.

Not in this thread, but it was mentioned in others.

Well then we get into the whole argument about the definition of MVP. Is it best player' date=' or literally "most valuable"?[/quote']

It's most valuable in the sense that it's the guy who's most valuable to a team experiencing success. To me, a guy can't be valuable to a s*** team. If Hamilton doesn't play for Texas, they're still s***. If A-Rod doesn't play for New York, they're still s***.

The sox have gotten the starting pitching to back their bullpen of late. So all they need is something from their O and they will win. DPed can get it out of his system now. if he stays struggling, then I think there will be an eventual dip in production from the team. But they are riding a hot streak right now based on the pitching.

i think right now we are fine, but if dped isnt any good for the rest of the year and if tex and arod and jeter are allstars and cashman makes a great trade deadline pick up and if the sox lose a lot and the yankees win a lot, then we might be in serious trouble

EDIT: also dont forget hughes and joba and if girardi decides he can be a player manager and catch then we are really screwed

yawn. Pedroia's always good for one slump in a season and he always comes back like a house afire.

For the record, jacoby's got his OBP back to .350 or so, might be time to shift him back to the 1 hole and move Peddy down.

Pedroia can hit anywhere in the lineup, its the biggest reason he's the reigning MVP. He will hit out of the leadoff spot, no worries there. Drew is doing fantastic where he is and so are Ellsbury and Ortiz. Don't mess with any of that.

Pedroia's slump of late is cyclic. He'll come out of it (he has already started to).

Variations in the line-up will be dictated by match-ups and game conditions. As things are now, it works. I'm more concerned with Youk at the moment. He's fallen off, and hard.
