I am looking to read a couple of baseball books this summer and wanted to know what books do you think are the all-time best? I have already read most books about Babe Ruth but I do like reading about baseball from 1900-1950.

Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.

There's of course "Ted Williams" by Leigh Monteville which is a biography of Williams, I found it a very good read and learned some very interesting, and humorous things about Ted.

Of course it's not a book, but Baseball Digest is always great with montly publishings of what's going on in MLB today.

And there's "Faithful" which was written by Stephen King and Stuart O'Nan about the Red Soxs' 2004 season.

Bernard Malamud's "The Natural" was a great read. The movie has always been my favorite, but after reading the book I have a much better appreciation for the story.

I thought Faithful was a huuuuuuuuge waste of my time. I'd rather read old game threads on here haha.

I enjoyed Juiced.

Ive read Ball Four probably 3 times, and I am currently reading it again during my long 11-7 shifts.

Awful pick.

Stewart O'Nan should be hung for that piece of s*** he wrote. Stephen King writes about two pages.

Johnny Damon should probably join them in the gallows. The book is all about how great he is. There are no interesting stories about the Red Sox, or anything interesting at all for that matter.

I would recommend Moneyball, possibly the most important book ever written in baseball. Ball Four is another great pick. Inside the Numbers is a good book that was recently written. It's a look at new statistics, and how they're used. Some more I'd suggest:

Juiced

I Was Right On Time

Bill James' Historical Baseball Abstract

Eight Men Out
