It begins in a little over 2 hours.

Who goes first? If I'm Miami, I take Jake Long and then a QB in round 2. That is, of course, unless I can move down and get more picks this year.

Just noticed that about the starting time. Didn't it always start at 12? f***in' ESPN.

That's what I get for not paying much attention until today. C'est la vie.

anyone know anything about mayo? good pick or what?

Pats are getting old at LB. They just got a young, athletic replacement. Maybe a reach, but when you're 18-1 and picking 10th, you have the luxury to reach.

It starts at 3 this year.

Jake Long is already signed.

lol

Well, if they already signed him, then why would they DRAFT him??? ;)

With Jake Long signed, The Dolphins take Matt Ryan 1st overall selection! hahahaha.

I think the main point of that pick was to (of course) get younger, but more importantly, it allows Thomas to move to OLB, where he's a LOT better than ILB, where he played for most of last season.

I like the pick. Everyone seems to think we need a CB, and I'm not saying we don't, but lets not forget we won a Super Bowl with Troy Brown at CB. I think it's the scheme more than the players when it comes to the secondary. This draft has a LOT of good CBs, lots of depth. It's so hit or miss... We got an additional 3rd in the trade with NO, so I think we go after the CBS in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

I like my 'Skins move to drop down and get additonal picks.

Nice to see them finally address the receiving corps with a first day pick too.

1st time i seen bb draft out of need rather than the best player available

i am a fan of rocky topfootball but i dont know much about this kid

that said

inside lb in the sec conference is an assasins gig and our front office will turn that 3round pick into a player no doubt

Mayo is a very smart player. The Pats were able to pick him because he'll be able to pick up on their more complicated schemes more easily than other LBs in the past would have. That's why the Pats have passed up on LBs in the past...I even believe that they've said that they don't want to go young at LB until they have to due to the complexity of their LB strategies. Mayo, though, should be able to make an immediate impact. I love the pick.

I like the Giants picks. Defensive backfield was a dire need and Phillips should be a nice addition. Plus, this kid from USC is supposed to be a pretty good cover corner, so him with Ross and Madison should make a nice 1-2 and nickel coverage package.

Brohm to the Pack. Hopefully this quells any notion of Culpepper backing up Rodgers.

Really pleased with the Packers' draft so far.

Love the Manningham pick. Toomer, Burress, Smith and Manningham with Moss vs Tyree at the 5 slot is a nice receiving corps. Considering that Shockey and Boss are still on the team and thunder and lightning in Jacobs and Bradshaw and Manning has his weapons. Considering that the O-line made leaps and bounds and will stay together and I expect this offense to be solid.

The D-Line is still money. Osi, Tuck, Cofield, Alford and Robbins should be nice. if Strahan wants to come back, then even better. The LB corps took a hit with Mitchell and Torbor leaving and the secondary, which was awful lost its best player in Wilson. But with the 1st and 2nd round picks, we add some top flight talent at safety and corner, we added Sammy Knight too to add to the depth in the D backfield. I think the biggest determinant of how this team does next yr will be how this defensive backfield plays. Last yr, we got torched in games that the QB didnt get hit. If we can shore up the D backfield, then this D will be nice. If not, then we'll be even more inconsistent and even more reliant on the pass rush.

I heard they were trading Shockey.

I dunno... I'm happy with the Pats picks, I guess... I used to get into the draft, but the truth is, you just never know. I won't really get into football until the first game of the regular season starts. I'm pretty much into this baseball thing for now! hahahaha.
