Snowstorm for the Pats/Jets Game?

Precipitation model for Sunday night....two feet of precipitation for the Boston area??

 

Could make things interesting for the passing game....

this could be their 1 problem down the stretch

laurence maroney isnt a reliable back and heath evans couldnt gain 100 yrds if he were on the field alone and we know faulk fumbles a lot.

the bad weather is just as good as a tuff defense

the pats throw and throw and throw and when they cant throw what happens then??

are they going to be able to run when they need 3rd and 3 in a raging blizzard with 50mph winds?

this is my worry

Well, the Cowboy fan would be right in that they have a shot. Dallas is a damn good football team - they're different from when the Pats last played them.

 

Why is it so out there to suggest that the Pats could be at a significant disadvantage in these conditions due to their lack of a consistent run game and run defense? Now, that run defense looks a bit better, they gave up some yardage on the ground last week against the Steelers but didn't s*** the bed. (Steelers are #1 in the league in rushing, no?)

 

I'm a Pats fan, and I don't think it's assinine to think that they could be in trouble in these conditions...

 

I don't recall anyone in this thread "not recognizing excellence" or making statements, such as the one you quoted, out of jealousy. They're legitimate points, no?

baltimore had us by the short hairs with the game in the bag

till their qb threw the pick,if they scored a td we were finished,if they kicked a fg we wouldve gone to o.t.

that said

everyone i talk to in any age group for the most part agrees this is the best offense ever.

my concerns are the lack of balance and laurence maroney not running the ball well.

my concerns on defense are the linebackers getting older and worn out

colvins loss is going to burn,seymour is getting handled easily these days and bruschi and vrabel aged a lifetime in the 2nd half of that indi game last year

 

they can be beat by a team that runs the football well

Sean- I agree with a lot you've said- the inconsistency of Maroney, the loss of Colvin, the age of our LBs...these worry me

 

however two things in particular i'm going to argue otherwise are:

 

1) this is not a finesse offense. see: Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker, Ben Watson, and yes, Tom Brady

 

2) the weather had very little to do with Peyton Manning and the colts inability to win in Foxboro, and the little bit that it did could be attributed to playing in a dome (which Brady does not do). See the first half of last year's AFC game for the pudding that holds the proof (sorry, but I just need to pick on that raging homo T.O. as much as i can. Shut the f*** up T.O.).

 

Are we going to have any of these "out for season" guys back for the playoffs My guess is no??

The pats def have area's where they can improve...but i think the Baltimore game had more to do with fatigue than anything else. They had played 3 prime-time games in a row and you could tell they were tired...they looked much better in the pitt game. One thing the pats have always done is employ that 'bend but don't break' philosophy. They will give up yards to keep the plays in front of them and not allow the big play.....this is why you will seem things change when teams get into the redzone because the pats aren't protecting against a longer play. They do this to prevent getting burned by the big play, also trusting that at points in the game they will get the 3 and out or the turnover that swings the game.

I don't know, i am just making an observation. A lot of the reporters that are with the team all the time mentioned that players had said some things and that they all looked tired and run down. During the week before the steelers game BB gave the team Wednesday off while the coaches finished up the gameplan. After that the team was said to look re-energized and 'back to normal'

 

I'm sure that the primetime games take a lot more out of a player simply due to the added media stuff in addition to the 'undefeated' talk. In addition during primetime games these guys probably don't get much sleep that night. I remember hearing Brady talk saying that even after a primetime game they would be in there working out at 5 or 6 in the morning...after not getting out of there till early morning after the game. He said they pretty much lose a nights sleep when they have a game like that...so after time it catches up with you.

 

The results speak for themselves though as BB game them some rest, and they played a better team, and beat them handily. Again all of this is just speculation on my part from things that i have heard.

So I wonder if this could give the Jets more of a chance. Everyone knows that the Pats are coming in wanted to kill us, and understandably why. I think these conditions could make this a good game to watch, not so much to play. I think as long as the Jets dont run up the middle or throw only predictable, then it could be a good game. well have to see

Speaking of that snow storm, I left school at 2 and didn't get home until 10. Eventually I just got out of my car and stretched and walked around because I didn't move for 2 hours at one point.

 

Oh, and I did a dance in the middle of the road to entertain people. It was actually kind of fun.
