Scott Kazmir-http://www.nypost.com/seven/11052007/sports/scott_stove_league_846843.htm

Santanna- Theres about a million stories out there about him being available, pick one.

Ok, All 3 of these LHP could be available according to the articles above. Ya there no bullet proof but hey its Hot Stove talk. Would any of these guys be worth Buccholz+?

Santanna at only 1 yr of guranteed time doesn't really do it for me.

Bedard at 2 yrs doesn't seem too bad if you plan on ponying up the money to sign him long term.

Now Kazmir is the really intriguing one of the three. Hes a proven #1 SP and his done it in the AL East and is only 24 yrs old. Throw in the fact he has an Career ERA of 3.66 and hes cost controlled for three yrs makes me salavate a little. You guys, I love Buccholz, but I can see his sealing being probably just as hi as Kazmir.

This one is a truely tough call I think, what do you guys say?

i say that kazmir is a stud but vulnerable to patient teams

same with bedard

but i do love those K #s

i only worry about health issues becuase next contract these boys sign will be a franchise maker or breaker for a team that is interested in contending

most teams that would drop 70-100M on a long term deal for these guys will need corresponding performance or theyre f***ed

Are you saying that you wouldn't move Buch for one year of Santana? Or that you wouldn't move him as a whole for Santana, as in, even if we were able to negotiate an extension?

I really hope you mean the former, because Santana, although slightly off last season, is the best pitcher in the game today and the most dominant I've seen since Pedro.

Kazmir is nasty but just too injury prone. If you can get him relatively on the cheap (see: Zambrano, Victor...eh Steve Phillips?) I'd definitely like to...but he spends too much time hurt for only being 24. On the other hand, if we shelled out 70 million for JD Drew, apparently injury issues aren't too big of a concern for this team...

Yes I was referring to one yr Santana vs 3 yrs of Kazmir.

If your sure you can get an extension for Santana then yes of course youd do that trade as well.

LOL JD DREW IZ HURT ALL TEH TIME

He only played in 140 games this season.

Again, I ask you, how can you afford internet if you're spending $70 million on JD Drew? Goddamn...

This is the only year that he has followed up a 100+ game year with another...

All I'm saying is that "too injury prone" is not something that this team will let stand in the way if they see something that they like. If the doctors give it the OK, they'll go ahead with it...
