Ellsbury still on his way to Boston. Mirabelli has been placed on the DL and the Sox are trying to rush Kevin Cash to Boston to take his place

roto

Doug Mirabelli will go on the disabled list because of his strained right calf sustained Friday.

The Red Sox are trying to get defensive specialist Kevin Cash to Boston in time for the second game of tonight's doubleheader. He'll probably be added to the roster whether he's in time for the first pitch or not. Mirabelli's injury will make Tim Wakefield a weaker play in fantasy leagues for at least the next couple of weeks.

Mods, delete this thread please. Rotoworld got themselves mixed up

Mirabelli will not be placed on the DL. Kevin Cash will just be replacing Bucholz on the roster, while Mirabelli is under evaluation. Kielty will be called up for tomorrows game

So we have Cash replacing Buchholz, and Kielty will most likely be called up via a DL stint for Mirabelli or if Mirabelli is okay, they will probably just send Cash back down.

Where does Ellsbury fit into this?

Okay' date=' thanks. That's what I figured. Am I missing anything in my post above yours? It seems like that would be the most likely sequence of call-ups/send-downs, no?[/quote']

Whoops didnt notice you also mentioning Kielty

In other news, Wakefield will be pushed back to Monday, so he can go for his 19th career win vs Tampa Bay. Tavarez will oppose Joe Saunders on Sunday

EDIT: It is now confirmed, Belli on the DL. Cash is the backup catcher until then. He is a whiz behind the plate, hopefully he wont have a Josh Bard experience. The Sox actually lose some offense as Belli is the better hitter

So there's no Kielty? Now we have two lefty OFs off the bench and a lefty in RF. I'm just confused. Let me straighten this out...

-Buchholz down, Ellsbury up and starting tonight in CF

-Belli on DL, Cash is now the backup

-Kielty not coming up

That's the case, correct?

Ok checking boston.com for the facts. It has been changing through the course of the day, bear with me.

Kielty will be called up for tomorrows game, the kid will be sent back down. Kind of a tease to Ellsbury if you ask me

that REALLY doesnt say much for Cash as a hitter
