His first start was not great - and this time he pitched against the Padres who have aweful offense. I will wait and see how he does in long term.

Keep in mind how pathetic the Padres offense is, and that the NL as a whole have lineups that can't even compare to those he had been facing in the AL.

 

Example: Anybody remember Jeff Suppan's brief stint with us several years ago?

 

I still don't expect him to pitch well consistently. If he does, it will definitely be a surprise to me.

I find it hard to take very many NL pitching performances seriously, nice start but its not like he just uptapped his potential and turned into a good pitcher.
