If he wasn't chasing the record, he could be traded for at least 3 young players. The Giants farm system is a barren wasteland. Lincecum is the only player worth speaking of. If he breaks the record before the deadline, they better trade him if they want to make the playoffs anytime in the next 5 years. Hell yes he is hurting the team.

I doubt it. He's still a great player, but he's Barry Bonds.

I don't think so. The Red Sox should be in on him, but it won't happen.

 

BTW, this guy's lowest OPS+ season with the Giants was 156.
