Best Rookie callup standout-- Manny Delcarmen, loved Jacoby's debut but after my campaigning for Manny to get called up hes pitched 10.2 innings, 5 hits, 8/4 K/BB, 1.69 ERA, walks a bit high but he's locating his fastball now and has been really effective.

Most Underrated Player-- Julian Tavarez, I know he started off bad but since May he has been fantastic at the backend of the rotation, I constantly feel people are underrating his season he's had thus far, he's not an ace but he's way more reliable IMO than Wake.

Why are people crapping on Wakefield?

 

This season.....he has done the same thing he has done in almost every single season since 1992. Hes throwing a lot of innings. Hes winning 50% of his decisions. He is keeping an ERA in the Mid 4 range.

 

Why is that disappointing? Look at his career on baseball referrence. This is a typical Tim Wakefield season. How can you be disappointed with a season you come to expect.

 

And Thumper....Wakefield doesnt throw much besides a knuckleball because.....................................well, because he is a knuckleball pitcher. Age is irrevelent with him. Ask Charlie Hough (age46), Phil Niekro (age 48), Joe Niekro (age 43).

I never said because of his age. I clearly said he has a weak fastball, and that WITH his age makes him not so well. Daisuke gets the same grade as Julian Tavarez according to the majority of Sox fans. Julian gets a B, DiceK gets a B. Are you kidding me? DiceK is rolling with a 3.80 ERA. Thats great, and hes coming off a terrible awful start, that number will get lower and lower. Way to be stupid. Julian is not a good pitcher what is wrong with people.
