Game Preview:

The last time Kason Gabbard started a game at Safeco Field, he was an anonymous figure, even to the most ardent Red Sox fans. That was July 22, 2006, and Gabbard was making his Major League debut.

Gabbard pitched well that day, albeit in a losing effort.

This time around, Red Sox followers know Gabbard as a dependable left-hander who seems to always do the job whenever he is called up from the Minor Leagues.

Gabbard is taking the rotation slot vacated by the ailing Curt Schilling. The last time the Sox saw Gabbard was May 20, when he pitched them to a 6-3 victory over the Braves at Fenway.

The left-hander is in the midst of a solid season for Triple-A Pawtucket, where he is 7-2 with a 3.14 ERA in 14 starts.

Gabbard will be opposed by Felix Hernandez, who fired a one-hit gem against Boston on April 11 at Fenway.

With two games left on this nine-game road trip, the Red Sox are 4-3. Meanwhile, Boston will try to snap a six-game skid at Safeco Field that dates back to July of last season.

Felix Hernandez is one of my favorite players not on the Red Sox, so I might be a little bit biased. Nevertheless, I think he's going to have a monster night tonight. The bats have been somewhat inconsistent recently and he's had recent success against the Red Sox. He's also well rested and at home, so I think he's due for a big start.

Felix was pronounced the Cy Young winner after his first 2 dominating starts. He got hurt the start after that, and after a couple solid outings, he struggled, with his ERA raising from 2.87 to 4.58 in the span of 4 starts. His last start he was filthy, albeit against Pittsburgh, going 8 shutout innings and striking out 9, walking one.

Here's the thing: The only really good outing he had against a good offensive team was Boston. His other good starts were against: Oakland, San Diego, Kansas City, San Diego and Pittsburgh.

We can beat him. Do it.

Can anyone tell me why for the love of God does NESN show that damn game from '99 where Nomar hit 3 home runs in one game against the Mariners. IT WAS NOT AN EXCITING GAME. Especially not after the 20th time I've seen it. What the hell?

Sorry, random, but definitely not deserving of its own thread... figured this could pass the time... go Kason!

I'm so pumped for this game. Watching my favorite player go up against my favorite team is a rare occasion and I don't think I could have asked much more out of the last matchup between Felix and Daisuke. (Even though my math test the next morning didn't exactly benefit from it). That was a game to remember. Hopefully we come out of this game with a win but I hope Felix gets back on track and finds some success as well. I hope we can take advantage of some of the weak spots in Seattle's bullpen...maybe...:).

He didn't put an apostrophe in the word "guy's", it's not him, that was adam's trademark.

But let's drop it, back to game discussion. He was banned, let's move on.

Banned forever or temporary? Sorry, just curious.

Let's put it this way... he's not going out of his way to lift the ban.

That sounds familiar...

Adam123 was, as far as I'm concerned, 1 of 2 people who everyone is nearly unanimous in despising on this board.

Yeah. I figured the best way to describe your course of action was to say the exact same thing you did.

You've been saying course of action a lot ever since I said it too.
