Bubba Bell had his second consecutive two-homer game, powering Lancaster to a 19-5 dismantling of Bakersfield on Saturday night at Clear Channel Stadium.

 

After scoring 16 runs in their first two games, both losses, the JetHawks finally got in the win column.

 

Bell led a relentless attack -- Lancaster (2-1) scored in every inning but the fourth and the eighth -- that totaled 21 hits and posted nine runs in the sixth.

 

The 24-year-old center fielder, who hit only six homers in 101 games at three different levels last season, went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk and four RBIs. He led off the bottom of the first with his third homer of the campaign, walked and scored in the second and slugged a two-run blast in the third.

 

After grounding out in the fifth and popping out in the sixth, Bell delivered an RBI double in the seventh. The Houston native is hitting .533 through three games.

 

Iggy Suarez slapped three singles and a double and drove in three runs for Lancaster (1-2), upping his batting average to .462. Aaron Bates slugged a three-run double in the sixth and Salvador Paniagua also had three RBIs. Zachary Daeges rounded out the assault, going 3-for-5 for his third straight multi-hit game.

 

JetHawks starter Kristofer Johnson lasted just 2 2/3 innings, giving up four runs -- three earned. Kevin Guyette (1-0) earned the win after yielding one hit and fanning three in 4 1/3 scoreless innings.

 

Andy Walker (0-1), who made nine appearances for the Blaze in 2006, struggled through three innings in his first start, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks. The Bakersfield bullpen didn't fare any better, surrendering 11 runs on 12 hits.

 

Anthony Pluta III gave up four runs in two innings, while Pat Donovan was roughed up for six runs in one frame.

 

Jake Blaylock, who had seven homers and 41 RBIs in 110 Texas League games in 2006, provided the bulk of the Blaze's offense with a three-run blast in the third. Freddie Thon went 2-for-4 in a losing cause.
