Ray King signs minor league deal with Nats

This one baffles me. The guy is 32 and has been a rather solid lefty reliever since 2000. He will turn 33 next yr. He comes off a solid 2005 in StL but get sent to the pitcher's graveyard in Colorado and gets lit up. This guy would have been a much better sign than Romero. At least you can justify his ineffectiveness.

Romero still does well against left-handers. King? Left-handers beat him like a drum. They hit .365 off the Hefty Lefty. He belongs as the world's worst left-handed specialist on the world's worst baseball team.

Ive always kind of liked Ray King. If he was signed to only a minor league deal you have to think Boston could have gotten him ahd they wanted him. He may have gotten hit hard last year by lefties...but for his career hes holding them to a .216 BA
