Damn. I was hoping he'd come back to Atlanta..

 

There were serious rumblings down here of bringing back both Glavine and Maddux for a couple more years to pitch with Smoltzy. People were talking about buying season tickets! (Ok, one guy I know, but still). Turner Field would have possibly sold out a couple of games next season just to watch the old guys back pitching together.

 

But still, being on the block to be sold, it's understandable why the Braves didn't make a deal. Unfortunately it almost sounds as if the Braves didn't even make an offer. Too bad, but they are not allowed to spend right now unless it makes the franchise more attractive for the future - not the past. I could bitch about the Braves all day long.

 

Oh well. 10.5/yr is still a lot for an old fart like Glavine. Another reason the Mets will have problems next year.
