I would love it if the Yankees picked up Jeff Suppan. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll stack their rotation with Jeffs (Suppan and Weaver) ?

Suppan to the Bronx? Likely the best thing that could ever happen to Suppan is this rumor. Now he can drive up his already inflated price. This guy will be best serviced to stay in the NL. He is not an AL pitcher.

I'd be shocked if Suppan wound up with the Yankees. I expect Wang, Mussina, Johnson, and Hughes to be in the rotation next year along with one FA, and I expect that FA to be better than Suppan. If signing Suppan meant he took up that FA spot or Hughes' spot I'd be exstatic.

from what I heard, he is still on the Pavano

 

In other news, it looks like Liriano will be on the Pavano for the entire yr next yr, as he will be recovering from TJ surgery.

I like Suppan a lot and enjoyed watching him the past 2 years (particularily this year), but I think it's clear that it would be a mistake for the Yankees to sign him. Now, I wouldn't be terribly upset if we did sign him, but I can certainly see it turning out badly.
