Yea, when he'd have a bad start earlier on in the year...I was just saying to myself "Wait another 5 days...the dude is naaaaaasty..." I'm finding myself less and less optimistic by the day.

In time I think Beckett will become the pitcher we think he can be. Will he this year. Likely not. He is not mature enough much like when Curt Schilling was the same age. It took Schilling alot longer to become the great pitcher he is today and it might be the same with Beckett. Once Beckett learns how to pitch there is no doubt he can be a good one.

For someone with great stuff Beckett cant throw his breaking ball for a strike if his life depended on it. If you cant throw your breaking ball for a strike hitters will sit on the heat. You might be able to get by with that in the NL but in the AL you wont survive long.
