Yes the aptly named Willie "where are going?" Harris has been designated for assignment, Wily Mo Pena rejoins Boston tonight. At least Harris' last appearance in Boston was a good one, capping the comeback rally by just beating a great throw by DeJesus.

 

Javier Lopez has been sent down, Jermaine Van Buren with his 1.48 ERA & 11 saves in Pawtucket comes up to give Boston a fresh arm.

I could think of one team, the same who gave Embree & Bellhorn 2nd chances after both were cut by the Sox

With Willie Harris gone, what was the countermove on the 40 man roster? I read that he’s refused an assignment @ AAA.

They will leave the roster spot open since dinardo is on the 60 day DL and when he comes back he will go back on it. but they might fill it with another scrap heap pickup in the time being.

Harris sucked at the plate, but he was a likeable guy. With that said, I don't think any Red Sox fans will miss him too much.
