Apparently, he's going to be sent down because Bartolo Col?n is off the DL. Jered is just 4-0 with a 1.37 ERA. He deserves to be in the rotation 1000x more than his big brother, Jeff does.

 

Side-note: Shouldn't it be two players to be sent down in order to make room for Bartolo?

The fact that they sent Jared Weaver back to the minors means that the Angels are preparing to trade one of their starters for a bat. In order to bump up the trade value, they need to start guys like Jeff Weaver over Jared for the time being. Once they make a deal, Jared will be back up with the Angels for the long run.
