Any quality player will cost the Yanks a decent size ransom. Teams know they will be desperate.

Exactly. Teams know that they will have the Yankees bent over and screaming for a reaming in a trade for a good OF. I can really see the autonomy that Cashman has been given slipping away if he is in favor of keeping the good prospects. Either way, the Sox win, whether it be now if they don't trade, or later if they do trade.

Guillen...Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get Soriano back to play outfield.

Na, we wouldnt do that. Unless the Nats were giving him away.

Yankees are the better team regardless of Matsui. That's why they keep winning the division. Nothing will change that until the Redsox win the division. Let's all remember the Yankees were what 11-19 last year and still won it...

Last time I checked the calendar it said the year is 2006. What happened in the past means nothing when evaluating the current teams (which have all had some roster turnover).

EDIT: BTW, keep wowing me with that immense baseball knowledge of yours. I'm floored thus far.

i saw an interesting stat during the game last night, Rivera againts the sox in his career out of 42 save chance he has only converted 32 of them. lastnight wasent a save chance but we did score again on him , so the sox has had quite of bit of succes of Rivera

This may be 45 pages long, but NO gamethread will ever, EVER, be as great as the July 4th, 2005 gamethread :D

We need a "shoot me in the head" smiley.
