He was safe....

It was close, could have gone either way. But, I didn't say anything about the call, I just said it was a great stop by Kotchman.

Actually, the FSN West replay shows that Shields foot touches the bag a millisecond before ARod's fingers touch the bag.

He is an idiot for sliding anyway. We should recoup about 50K every time ARod chokes in the clutch...

then again, he'd be paying George money to play if that was the case....

I love when Sterling bemoans about hitting in bad luck etc. He's going on about at'em balls, etc.,and he just gave the big Godzilla call. It's great!

In fairness to the Yankees, they are starting out on the west coast which is pretty difficult. Then again, the Sox will eventually have to go out there, just at a different time. But seriously, Ervin Santana is supposed to be a stud. The Yankee lineup on the other hand....needs to be able to kill pitchers. They signed Damon to give them that leadoff hitter they need, and they have all the talent in that world in that lineup. How they aren't hitting these pitchers recently is beyond me. Someone help me out here.

I think the team is close to reaching their potential. Sheff is still working on his timing and a bunch of the other guys have been hitting the ball hard; as everyone becomes more adjusted, fewer of those hard hits will find their ways to defenders.

On a positive note, I love what I saw from the Big Unit tonight. A CG in his second start, along with 8 Ks? That is wonderful.

Well, Randy gave a 'stopper' performance but, apparently, it wasn't good enough for this offense; I guess Moose will have to do the job. Given the current trend of this team, he'll need to be a little bit better than perfect for a no decision.

(When I get frustrated, I exaggerate. )

not only are the players on the yankees jokes but the front office is filled with a bunch of dopes who can't use the most money in baseball on anything better than a bunch overpaid, washed up steroid freaks...and make a rockies joke when your beloved yankees have a better record than them...

I used to always like the Rockies, but your dumbass has changed that.

OK guys. We NEED to win. This is getting ridiculous. Time to start winning. We have a long season ahead of us and digging ourselves a hole to get out of, like last year, is not the way to go. Lets get our heads out of our asses and take care of business.

2 huge upsides from this swing though is that Randy looks like the Randy of 04 and Mussina was solid in his first start. Wang also looked good but was victimized by poor D....

Hey guys look at the bright side ............... you're 1 game better than the Pirates.

it is agitating, but no cause to lose hope. After the last 2 yrs starts, I can stomach another slow one...

I can't handle these starts by the Yankees, their always terrible in April, its so nerve racking, they wait till June before starting to come together, and then go on runs. I can take that every year..1-4???? They should be 5-0, I just pray they can takje this thrid angels game...and then Dominate the Royals(Please god) and get to over .500

For that to happen....Giambi...you'll need to start getting hits there bud

Hey, 2003 we started off 20-4. That was a hell of a start.

But hey, lets look at the bright side. 1998 the Yankees get off to a 1-4 start, and as we all know go on to win 114 games that year :D

As if the win/loss records arent overrated. Everybody knows that he was the second best, if no THE best pitcher in the National League that year. He and ROger finished 1-2 in the Cy Young voting. It's not Randy's fault that the Arizona Diamondbacks sucked balls that year.

So did the 1989 Yankees. Congrats.

Aside from one game, so have the 2006 Yankees*.
