Everyone looks good so far throughout the spring, except for the fatman. As i have said a lot here; i would be happy to dropkick the fatman and put paps in the rotation.

well than i think our staff could lead us to a ws seeing as we do have atleast 2 dependable (Schill and Beckett pitchers and 2 solid ones ( Wake and Wells

Well's would flip a s*** if he was sloted in the 5. It's likely he pitches #3 in the rotation.

Eh K's are more relavent than ERA.

 

I mean people will get a lot of hits therefore a few extra runs off you in ST because youre not concerned with winning the game you want to tinker with your pitching and see what works and what doesn't.

 

A high number of strike outs shows that his stuff is on and that he sould be in good shape for the season.

K's are absolutely relevant in ST. It bothers the hell out of me that Papelbon hasn't got his strike outs this year. Even in his good outings he is striking out 1 or 2. When a guy gives up four runs, that at times will mean that its because he is sticking with a pitch or a location, or worse, a pitch in a specific location through out the game to try and get a feel for things. So, for example, schill was throwing mostly fastballs inside early on to get comfortable and he plunked some guyss ( duffy ) he isn't going to plunk that many guys in the season. When you get K's its because your outpitches are getting you outs, when you give up runs, yeah sometimes you make mistakes, but sometimes its because you have to work on an aspect of your game that isn't neccesarily good for in game situations.
