On the Red Sox official website, the only game marked for television for the month of April for instance is Opening Day. Does that put the rest of the games on NESN? I know UPN38 won't be carrying anymore of the Friday night games, but I was just curious when it will be officially announced (if it hasn't been already)?

Thanks for any help. Can't wait for RemDawg and Orsillo this season (I have to wait for MLB Extra Innings during the season, you guys have gotten them during spring training).

i think it's because of the WB and Upn teaming up for a new network. there will be no other alternative. no cable channels has picked up the red sox locally.

A question: for those of us who have MLB extra innings (i have directv) are they going to do the "home team get's the broadcast" crap again this year? Last year was the first year and it really sucked having to listen to some really stupid and bad announcers. (cue baltimore, Tampa Bay, and the whitesox). I would hope that they would make it available on both networks instead of blacking one out.

i doubt they will if you have nesn.

I have NESN, but i am not local anymore. (my local sports is comcast out of baltimore:rant: -- and they suck) So i order the sports package which includes NESN, and the MLB extra innings. Two years ago everygame (with the exception of fox saturday) was on NESN--last year however NESN was blacked out for the away games and i had to watch them on the hometeams's channel. It really makes you appreciate remy and orsillo!

Ya it must be becuase i am out of town. My parents and all my friends back home don't have this problem. Still sucks to shell out the cash and have to watch some lousy announcers!

Yes, it will be the "home team has the network shown" with a few exceptions. Basically, all games played in Toronto against the Blue Jays will be on NESN and all away games not on the team's local FSN channel or Comcast will be on NESN. For instance, when the games are on the Rays Television Network or whatever, you get NESN. Hope that helps and makes sense. It is a pain at times watching other announcers (the worst are the Rangers and White Sox) but hey, I guess we are atleast seeing the games.

Thanks for the update. The worst part for me actually (and yes chicago, ect.. annonners suck) is when the sox play baltimore; (home or away) because i am local for baltimore and they get all the coverage. The problem is half the time they don't show the game on the baltimore channels (whether it's comcast or a local channel) and NESN is blacked out so i can't see the game at all.
