Well this is rapidly approaching and if this years is anything like last years...I'm excited.

With the Phoenix reps winning 3 of 4 on Saturday night...left a great mark on last years ASG for us in Phoenix. Steve, Shawn, and Amare all being All-Stars last year helped too. :D

The Game itself was a good one, and the Rookie Sophmore game last year was cool too. (Although this year's might not be as main event style with LeBron, Wade, and Melo all in it but it should be a good one.)

This year will be fun, and it feels kinda weird that KG isn't starting (to me anyway), but I'm sure he will be a reserve. But of course as there is every year, people get snubbed. Elton Brand is a prime candidate who gets snubbed and who deserves it, and I think this year he will be there, due to his teams success.

What does everyone think?

OH, and does anyone know where I can find a list of the next few ASG's? Because I'm wondering when it will come back here.

I think this is the first ASG in a long time that both lineups are balanced when it comes to the positions. Both conferences' starters have a PG, SG. SF, PF, and C. It used to be like... let's say: Kobe, McGrady (was a SG before this year), Garnett, Duncan, and Yao. So in other words, it was 2 SG's, 2 PF's and a C.

If Pierce isnt a reserve I am boycotting this game. He has quietly had one of the best years, and there is no reason he shouldnt be AT LEAST a reserve.

Same with if 'Melo fails to make the team. He got slighted last year, too.

All Star Game is such a joke though. The way I see it, the East has a fine starting lineup, but the West got f***ed over. Yao and McGrady DONT deserve to start at all. T-Mac has been hurt most of the year. What about Dirk, Melo and KG? They need to do something about this because obviously fan voting doesnt work. If Pierce or Arenas doesnt make the team, something is drastically wrong with this, and Stern should do something about it, because they are both having amazing, career years.

Take away China's vote. :D

Yao should be kicked out of Houston for that weekend because he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near that game.

Matrix too. Have you looked at his numbers?

He's 4th in the NBA in efficeincy rating and is averaging 21.4 PPG, and 11.9 rebounds. And is 3rd in rebounds per game, 14th in blocks per game, and 7th in steals per game. 2nd in minutes played, and 1st in double-doubles. Also he is 16th in shooting percentage at a cool 51.3%.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, I see Pierce making it. Rememebr the coaches select the reserves.

Melo made it last year didn't he? But regardless, I think he should make it. The West is so much harder at the forward positions.

I wasnt discounting him. I was just listing off a few good players that were on the top of the page I was on, which was PPG. I only saw 1-16 and I didnt really feel like making a gigantic list so I just listed the first three guys from the West I saw. Marion is a stud though, probably, along with Garnett, is one of the best all around players in the league.

Thats fine, I was just saying don't forget him. :D

Nope, 'Melo missed it. Huge bummer too because the game was in Denver. Oh well, I got to go to the Rookie Challenge, where he was the game's MVP -- that was fun, getting to see LeBron, Melo, and D-Wade on the same team in person.

Do you think the Pistons' starting lineup can match up with and beat the East starting lineup?

I think so, what about you?

Posted

I don't think they could even compete with the East starters.

They've lost games to Utah twice, Washington, and a Cleveland team which is Lebron James without Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade, Shaq and Jermaine O'Neal.

There is absolutely no way they can even hang with the East starters.

Seriously, if you replace the Cleveland Cavaliers starters with the starters for the East, is there any logic in thinking that they do better than the 13 point loss?

Even in the past the Pistons have had to give Ben Wallace help on Shaq, doing that would leave another All-Star open.

You also have to look at team chemistry and stuff. Like someone said (I forget if it was Legler or Anthony), but you cant just have all these stars come in and start to play different roles and mesh together.

Do the All-Stars atleast get some practices before the game?

I doubt it. It's not like the Pro Bowl where they are there like a week in advance. So I think there gameplans are put the basketball in the hoop and don't do s*** on defense.

I'm almost positive that they get at least one or two.

Oh and about Legler and Anthony, they are so high on the Pistons is disgusting. It doesn't suprise me ONE iota that they would say that. The East starters would win.
