Trade Boomer?

The Sox will probably look to to trade Boomer Wells, but I no longer see who they will get for him. They have 4 OF, plenty of INF, and solid middle relief. Unless they can get a very solid prospect or a possible closer (very unlikely), I think they should hold on to him and wait for injuries. I hate to say it, but Beckett and Schill most likely wont make all their starts, and Clement is a ? mark; having 7 starters could turn out to be a blessing.

it all depends on what the sox can get for him...if a team is willing to give us a good prospect or 2 then yes i would trade him.

He wants to be traded. He's old. If he's not traded I think he'll retire. This isn't a matter of should we trade him or shouldn't we it's just whoever is willing to offer us the better pile of crap for him.

His agent was on WEEI today saying that Wells will report to spring training. But that doesn't mean he still will not be traded. he will have a meeting with theo when they report to fort myers.

I don't think he'll retire, but he will be traded.

 

Theo's doing an outstanding job playing for leverage. If one of the Dodgers, A's, Padres, etc.. pitchers gets hurt, then you could very well see David Wells headed west, for a good package.
