New Sox Players

Anyone notice that none of the new Sox players were formerly introduced ala Schilling when he came here? Like no press conference at all, no holding up the jersey?

I was surprised that they didn't have one for Beckett but I don't think any of the other players we acquired were really worthy of that kind of treatment.

I dont understand that either. I would think that Beckett would get one. Reason is probably that they didnt want to commit to giving him a jersey number just yet, as having a press conference would require giving him a jersey (with a number on the back) and I guess they havent decided if he will get 21 or not.
