If I recall correctly, he didnt get fired, but rather left for the managerial job in Baltimore, which was considered a promotion, which he is allowed to do without penalty.

 

But yea, like you said, I dont think there was any doubt he would be back here...in fact, I predicted this in the Girardi thread after someone asked who would replace Joe as the bench coach.

oh, lol my mistake...I thought that you meant when he left for Baltimore to begin with

 

yea, I was pretty sure after he got fired this year that he would be back. IN fact, I thought that Cashman would have had him back this past season.
