Now would be a good time to deal for Crisp if the sox are really willing to part with Marte. He (Marte) is a great prospect, there is no doubt about that. The sox have a farm system that I thought was great even BEFORE they got Marte, and after they traded Hanley and Anibel. If Manny is indeed staying then Crisp would be a great CF replacement, he's young and has shown great skills. I would be much more in favor of Marte for Crisp than Marte for Lugo or anyone else.

 

I doubt it will happen, and I"m happy about that because I'm excited about Marte. But if Manny stays then the whole restructuring thing becomes much less important. Our offense, except for a leadoff hitter, is pretty set.

Would they seriously put Lugo in CF?? He doesnt at all seem like a CF, let alone hes played only 14 games in the OF before.

 

At this point we need to move past plan A though. There aren't a lot of options out there and Crisp and Reed seem very overpriced.

At one point the Rays asked for Marte and more for Lugo from the Braves, so he's not any cheaper.

And Tejada drops his trade demand. Looks like Manny isn't going anywhere.
