Rowand a gold glover? The show he put on in Yankee stadium a month or two ago was awesome, and he's been doing that all season. I say yes, he is

I know we shouldnt dwell on the ump controversy but if it was the correct call their was a decent chance the Angels go back home 2-0 and the whole thing would have been different it just cant be over looked, allthough the Chi Sox have done a great job jumping on the great chances they have been giving and def. deserve to win this series

Well put.

I totally agree. Rowand has been the most underrated defensive player in the American League this year. His power numbers are down, but his lack of exposure is probably the reason he isn't more broadly known for his defense.

Good comments.

umps actually get a call right, thats a 1st.

AJ Pierzynski is yet again in the middle of such a play.

AJ must have a direct line with the almighty. This is just too funny and too coincidental. ;)

AJ did run out of the box partially blocking the throw. Unreal.

every coach in little league teaches their runners to run inside on the way to first when the ball is a right-side of the infield play. you're supposed to do that.

1 This is not Little League.

2 MLB Rule 7.09 (k): In running the last half of the distance from home base to first base while the ball is being fielded to first base, he runs outside (to the right of) the three foot line, or inside (to the left of) the foul line and, in the umpire's judgment, interferes with the fielder taking the throw at first base, or attempting to field a batted ball; The lines marking the three foot lane are a part of that "lane" but the interpretation to be made is that a runner is required to have both feet within the three foot "lane" or on the lines marking the "lane."

I'm not anti Sox. There's no question they are the better team. I amazed at the umpiring in both series. The replay showed AJ make two strides to the left of the foul line when a throw was made to first.
