Let's assume that after tommorrow the Sox and Guardians are tied. Its my understanding that due to coin flip, a one game paly-off would be played in Boston. My question is , how due you sell and deliver 34,000 tickets in one day ?

Boston, 1 game playoff? That wouldn't be hard at all. It won't happen anyway, but it is interesting to think about.

Why wouldn't it happen ? Do you think the Guardians will get swept ? Or that the Yanks will pack it in on Sunday ?

I would imagine all season ticket holders will be given a grace period to pay for/pick up their tickets at will call and everything that doesn't get claimed, along with the rest of the seating capacity, will get sold at the gate.

BOSTON -- In the event the Red Sox host a Monday tie-breaker game with the Cleveland Guardians to determine the American League Wild Card, the club today announced that fans holding A.L. Division Series tickets marked "ALDS Home Game 3" may use those tickets to gain admission to the tie-breaker game.

Should the Red Sox win the A.L. Wild Card, they could host a maximum of two Division Series games at Fenway Park, meaning the "ALDS Home Game 3" ticket would otherwise go unused.

With today's results, a Monday tie-breaker game would only be necessitated by a Red Sox loss to the Yankees AND an Guardians victory over the White Sox in tomorrow's season finales. A Red Sox win or an Guardians loss tomorrow guarantees the Red Sox the Wild Card. They would play the White Sox in the A.L. Division Series.

A limited number of tickets for Monday's game will be available at the Fenway Park Ticket Office beginning at 8 a.m. Monday. Game time for a potential tie-breaker game, which will be determined by Major League Baseball, has yet to be announced.
