Final stretch, we are now looking up at the hated Yankees. It's time to see what these guys are made of. David Ortiz has done everything in his power to keep this club afloat. It's time for Renterria to start playing like he can, its time for our hurt guys to step up and deliver heroics much like Schill did last season. Its time these guys do the little things to help this team win, move runners over, make pitchers woirk, and play solid defense. Its time we see the Big Game pitcher David Wells deliver big games like he is capable of doing. Last season our bullpen struggled for a while but they put it together during the final weeks and carried it into the postseason.

This team is too damn good to not win the division or make the playoffs at all. There are too many stars on this team, there are too many veterans with postseason experience to not step it up and carry this team on their backs. I think tomorrow they regroup and put it together in the final weeks. If they can come from 3 down to the Yanks, and they can win so many games with walk off atbats during the season, then they can do this. I have all the confidence in the world that they turn this around over the next two weeks.

Heres to optimism, lets go Sox, I cant wait till the return to Fenway with the crowd screaming LETS GO REDSOX for 9 straight innings, man do I love home games with the season on the line, lets do this.

I would really like to have the lead going into that yankee series, even by a 1/2 game if needed, just to have the momentum. Honestly, it should have never gotten this bad. The Yankees are signing random guys everyday just to fil up a spot in the rotation, and these guys are just pitching. Then again, there were stratches where they pitched like they should have, and we didn't take advantage. Tomorow we get a much needed day off and hopefully we'll finally play like we give a s***. I really want some n nonsense from everyone else like Papi has shown. They just play like they don't care with these careless errors and Timlin givin up all these runs, in the playoffs when he knows it important he pitches lights out. He should be reachin back to get these guys out. You can never under-estimate your opponent, and I think we under-estimate the rest of the AL East.

I'm not even worried about it.

Ortiz is hot, Manny is a kettle about spit steam, Varitek seems to have broken out of his slump, Meuller and Millar are both getting in the swing of things, other factors are leaning in a positive direction.

The Yankees have been on a bit of a streak lately but I don't think they're the type of team that can keep it up long-term. Even in many of the games they are winning in the past two weeks, they are giving runs up to the other team at a wholesale rate.

And I'm not underestimating them. The Yankees could very well hold on to the end, but their recent play even during their hot streak indicates that they are going to have a pretty rough time down the stretch.
