Pierce to Nuggets?

Apparently, the Celtics might trade Paul Pierce to the Nuggets for Andre Miller and Nene.

 

As a Nuggets fan, I have absolutely no idea what to think about this trade. I'm kind of excited as I think it makes the Nuggets a title contender right away... but I've always thought we'd rue the day we trade Nene.

Wow I really don't understand the Celtics at all on this one. Andre Miller was supposed to be the next great PG a few years back but he never really panned out. He's a decent PG now but certainly not top notch. Nene is just kind of an average big man that really isn't going to make your team much better. Unless this all about the money I really don't understand how you can trade a perennial all star for, basically, two nobodys.

Nene is one of the most sought after, young players in the league. In a few years, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with in the NBA.

OK, well I wont dispute that because I can't say I've seen a ton of Nuggets games. I didn't know that he still had upside, so my statement about him only being mediocre wasn't wrong. Still don't understand the trade though.

Id like this deal. We still lose a great player in Pierce, but still gain a solid starting point guard, and another raw but talented big man.

Yeah, he was injured last year, and when he came back, he played kinda soft. But having watched him play in the past, he's not usually that type of player. The general perception around the league is that he's going to be a great player.

 

I think Nene would be great for you. You're not going to compete for a Championship this year, so why not add to your already bright looking future?

The Nugs signed Earl Watson so he would fill in, they've also got Earl Boykins who is good off the bench.

Yep. Watson is no Andre Miller, but he's a capable player. They don't need him to score, like Andre Miller had to do a lot. I'd think he'd be successful in a system with 'Melo, Pierce, K-Mart, and Camby.

 

I was kind of questioning signing him, considering who they've already got at PG... but it makes sense if this deal goes down.

You should be. Nene and andre are garbage. I mean andre is a decent pg, but lets face it, EARL f***ING BOYKINS OUTPLAYED HIM LAST YEAR. If I were a nuggets fan, I would be thrilled to get someone like pierce for them.
