That doesn't matter Bonds wouldn't be the first or the last to come back from a knee injury. I mean jesus Randy Johnson doesn't even have cartilage in his kne anymore and he's still pitching.

OK I'll say it again. I know he's not the first player who's had knee injuries, but you're still ignoring the steroids, and the fact that he's 41 years old. He could come back with his knees 100% but without steroids, at 41, he wont be Barry Bonds anymore.

 

It's your hips too. Without throwing your hip strength in there by rotating, you won't hit the ball. Arms too. As long as you have the fundamentals down and still have some strength overall in your body you can still be a power hitter.

You're right a lot of your power comes from your hips, but your knees are your base and without them it's really hard to step and turn on a pitch. Sure he could still power out a pitch with his arms, but I'd say overall his power would be way down.
