Matt Perisho, let go by the Florida Marlins in which Sox signed him right away and put him in Triple A I believe should get the call up to add more depth in the lefty dept of the bullpen. The time he was with the Marlins this season in 24 games had just a 1.93 ERA. Down in Pawtucket, in 5 games pitching 4 2/3 innings hasnt allowed any runs, with 2 hits and 3 Ks in that span---just a thought really

Why was he let go then??? Roster space for the Marlins...? :dunno:

We don't need him in the bigs yet, we have Myers as a lefty specialist. He could get messed up in the head if he gets killed and we may jsut be burning out another prospect.

People are too quick to throw Remlinger under the bus. What people don't realize is he may be a lefty but he has a negative split. It's actually right handed hitters he can get out easily and has a hard time getting out lefties. Francona being brain dead as far as the bullpen goes leaves him in for 7 batters, so naturally he get's killed.

Matt Perisho isnt a prospect, been in the big leagues since 1997, he pitched for the Marlins this season in 24 games and had an ERA of 1.93

But last night he faced just 2 batters, walk and a rbi double got Tito right away to the mound, very smart of him by the way to do so. Ok lets see without getting a single out, his ERA is right now Infinity!!! On no outs has given up 3 hits, 5 Runs, and 2 Walks--nah but i shouldnt be too quick to judge, i get you now haha. listen he just doesnt have it, i was thinking maybe we'd see somerthing different his 2nd tiem around, but first batter drew a walk and then next a double, he wasnt even throwing the ball where tek wanted it, and tek deserves much more than that

just a note of interest, on rotoworld.com it noted that "Mike Remlinger was called up from the minors on Sat Aug 13" I had wrote an email to someone from the site asking if a typo was in place, and he had confirmed it was a typo and Remlinger has rather been sent down to Triple A. no reports on who is getting the call up

you would be right, rotoworld has just confirmed papelbon will be indeed starting game 2 against the Tigers

According to the Boston Herald, the Red Sox are expected to recall Jon Papelbon from Triple-A to sub for Wade Miller (shoulder). Papelbon would start Tuesday against the Tigers, despite having pitched in relief at Triple-A since being sent down earlier this month.

Remlingers BAA for right handed hitters: .333

Remlingers BAA for left handed hitters: .229

He could be useful as a righty specialist who comes out for one or two batters tops. The equivalent of a Mike Myers for rightys. All I'm saying is everyone is too quick to say "get rid of him" when he could be a very usefull arm down the stretch and in the post season.

Yeah I don't understand why the Sox picked up Remlinger when they knew how bad he is. Send him down and call Perisho up.

Ricky Bottalico who was acquired from the Red Sox shortly after Perisho allowed three runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief for Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday. Bottalico has given up four runs and has a 1/3 K/BB ratio in 3 1/3 innings since joining Pawtucket. His chances of being called up are on the decline
.

Now with Mike Remlinger a lefty who has shown what he's capable of. I can only hope hes gets DFA'ed, what help can he really bring? Really Perisho is the more viable option than this clone of John Halamma, his time in Pawtucket in 5 games (6 innings pitched) has a 1-0 recod with an ERA of 3.00, 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, and striking out 3

Pawtucket, RI) - Dustin Pedroia's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth lifted the PawSox to a 5-4 win over Ottawa on Tuesday night. Pawtucket was cruising, leading 4-0 when the Lynx scored 4 times to tie it in the seventh. Lefty Matt Perisho (2-0) earns the win with 2 perfect innings of relief, Abe Alvarez who started went a solid 6 2/3 with 4 Ks. In the decisive ninth, Tony Schrager legged out an infield hit, George Lombard singled and Pedroia looped a ball over the drawn in infield. Both Pedroia and Lombard had 2 RBI. The series and homestand wraps up Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Marc Deschenes (0-2) faces Tony Fiore (9-3).

Matt Perisho is deserving for a Sept 1 call up at least, In 9 games of relief (9.2 innings) he has an ERA of just over 3, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, 4 Walks, 6 strikeouts
