Monday was a disappointing night for the PawSox. They split a doubleheader with Rochester, winning the opener 8-7 in 8 innings and losing 10-9 in the nightcap. In the opener, Dave Berg nailed a game-winning, 2 run homer to push the PawSox to the extra-inning victory. Luis Figueroa had a pair of hits and 3 rbi, and Shawn Wooten added 2 hits and 2 rbi. Cla Meredith suffered a blown save, but did earn the win to improve to 2-5. In the second game, Dustin Pedroia hit a pair of homers and knocked in 5 runs as the Sox fell to 62-61. Pawtucket erupted for 5 runs in the first and 3 in the third, then hung on for dear life as the 8-0 lead slowly evaporated. Rochester scored 2 in the fifth and three more in the sixth, to pull to within 2. In the seventh, Kevin West crushed a 3 run, game-winning homer off loser Tim Bausher (2-2). The series concludes on Tuesday night at 7:05 at Frontier Field. Lenny DiNardo (6-3) faces Boof Bonser (10-7).
