yankees will see soon enough if their tattered starting pitching lineup can still go further on as they face off against more of the best the AL has to offer starting with a 3 game set against the texas rangers, who love to hit their homeruns as well. Back comes the injury-prone Kevin Brown with an ERA over 5 and hasnt pitched since mid-June going out from yet another back injury. 13 times so far in his career that he has gone on the DL. Facing off the yanks is Ricardo Rodriguez who is holding at a steady ERA of 3.71. It will be a pitcher that the entire yankees lineup; except for a-rod and ruben sierra; this will be their first times taking on his pitches. Sox fans it will be on ESPN tonight so something to switch back and forth too.

The Delaware County Times reported that the Yankees are interested in Phillies pitcher Vicente Padilla and reserve outfielder Endy Chavez. The Yankees, who have four starting pitchers on the disabled list, are scrambling for starting pitching, recently acquiring pitcher Al Leiter to make a start against the Red Sox. Padillas is 5-8 with a 5.61 ERA this season.

Newday reported that the Yankees could acquire pitcher Shawn Chacon and outfielder Eric Byrnes from the Rockies. The Yankees have been rumored to be interested in Chacon for weeks, but have been unwilling to trade both pitchers Sean Henn and Scott Proctor for Chacon. Byrnes, who was recently dealt to Colorado from Oakland, would provide upgraded defense and youth into the Yankees outfield. Newsday also reported that if the Rockies are to deal both Chacon and Byrnes to the Yankees, they would be looking for a better prosepct, like outfielder Melky Cabrera, to be included.

rather than this 4 game series to start off the second half, rest of july through august will really be the determining points of boston and yanks--moreso as both yankees and sox try to rebuild their pitching rosters

Of course, since you lost. Now that series means nothing. Right.

oh shut the hell up. no it did mean a lot to me. but fact of matter is that youre lineup will be tattered going to face off the texas rangers, la angels twice, and twins for rest of july. notice how i said "sox and yanks" have to work their pitching rosters

well sox are blessed with tampa bay devil rays coming into town for the next 3 games, then will be the 4 game series set in Chicago against literally the best team in all majors, 61-29 record speaks for itself. Then sox will get another lift by having to face the devil rays right after chicago. So hopefully thats at least gonna be 6 assured wins this month

ya it should be 6 assured, but for some reasons we have difficulties againt the sucky teams... i'll never understand that. but usually teams that beat the yankee, we can beat... that would definately be tampa bay. we got kansas city first few days of augst too, so maybe thats another 3 wins...
