does anyone know if they signed the closer out of St. Johns from Long Island...i forget his name off the top of my head but he was highly touted by scouts from all 30 teams and the yanks (and mets as well as many other teams) passed him up and the sox drafted him...just curious because in an interview with a red Sox scout on MSG (Madison Square Garden network, similar to NESN for those that dont know) the night before the draft the scout was very pessimistic about getting him because of how good he is he figured he would be gona in the top 5 picks but if he stuck around the sox would do anything possible to keep him out of Yankee and Shea stadium.

it is said that the diamondbacks were debating between Upton, this kid from St Johns, and someone else to be their top pick but ultimately chose upton, its very surprising that he stuck around so late, either late 1st round or early second, dont quite remember..or he might have been a supplementary pick for Orlando Cabrera going to LAA, not sure....but anyways back to the point, did he sign yet?

thanks...i knew it was something hansen, surprised i didnt remember.....this is the only time i really got mad about a draft pick, especially since the yanks took a SS over Hansen, which is the last thing we need right now.....neway...congrats Sox fans, if the scouting reports and the projections of this kid are accurate you guys are gonna have a real good pitcher, could pull a chad cordero and be in the bigs at the end of this year if he signs soon enough so that he oculd get some minor league time in....

but im pulling for him to not sign, play sum indy ball this year or something, maybe for the Long Island Ducks or something, go back in the draft next year and get picked by the Yanks lol...just kidding, unlikely anyway
