Where the hell is Cesar Izturis? He's not even on the top 5 in voting. Stupid casual baseball fans. Why is Nomar leading the votes? Popularity, that's why. Izzy is the best all-around SS in the NL.

I'm sure Tony LaRussa will be smart enough to select him over his SS David Eckstein. Unlike last year with Jack McKeon, he picked his 3rd baseman, Lowell, instead of Beltre.

Heh, the votes are probably counted in Florida.

It's stupid there is no way that the fans should be allowed to vote for the All Star team. I garuntee you half the people voted Nomar because that's the only person they recognized on the stupid list. Same with the new who ever wins the All Star game wins home field for the World Series. Hasn't the AL won like the past 8 years or something? It's jsut stupid the All Star game is a sham.

I agree, no one in NL should be up there if they don't deserve it. I hope Damon passes Ichiro to be the 3rd OF. It will be hard though because Ichiro is a good, good player. Oh well.

It's a popularity contest, always has been, always will be. It's meant to be that way in the first place. Sort of a "fan's choice" parade.

I'd be more concerned about why players are inducted into the Hall of Fame based on statistical achievements alone, without any consideration for "FAME" as a factor.

Couldn't it be said that AL fans want to pick the worst NL players to start for the NL and vice versa? I mean, yeah, it's wrong, but we're talking WS home field advantage here. Fans are probably gunna vote the worst players into it....

That being said, I think the players themselves should vote for who they think should be in it. It's not helping them to vote bad players in..so why not try that?

Do you know what OPS stands for? How about EQA? Lopez and Izturis are very close. The three that should be on the team are Lopez, Izturis and Eckstein. No one else is really in their league in the NL.
