All I have to say is Pesky's number should be retired. That ceremony with him in it moved me... the look on his face, god I don't think anyone cares more about that team than that man. I don't give a dam about numbers I dont give a damn about anything else his number should be retired tomorrow.

Yea, I agree, it was great that he was featured so prominently. Even if he wasn't the greatest player to ever live, he means so much to the franchise that his number should certainly be up on the wall.

I agree he is just such a classy guy and truly a red sox. The players love him and so do the fans.

 

They defintiely should retire his number, unfortunately they'll wait until he passes on, but they should do it for him now.

 

Yaz looked so happy and proud too--but pesky has been close to the team forever and deserves every honor they can give him.
