I think the Herald is decidedly anti-Pedro, and they may have put a worse spin on this than really happened. I truly believe that Pedro can't continue to harbor any ill-will towards Boston. We loved him.

pedro is the best pitcher that ever has and ever will wear a sox uniform (IMO). he earned every penny of his contract and did everything he could for boston. the media trashes him so bad, especially dan shittyhairman. i haven't bought a globe in YEARS, refuse to read them too.

 

the herald isn't as bad imo. i actually read that article and have it clipped on my sox wall. i personally don't think it made pedro sound like a bad guy, in fact i thought the globe did a good job showing that pedro is not at fault, he just did what was best for him. it's foxsports that made the herald look bad, they took snips here and there and put in their own words.

 

you guys gotta realize that this is the media. they take non stories, not offensive stuff and turn it into trash. the herald article made pedro sound like a good guy and fox sports took snips from that and made him sound like a bad guy..

Pedro was a great pitcher in boston, a hall of famer for sure and yes, maybe the best pitcher we've ever had in the modern era, plus a big baby and bigger *******, and it appears he is refining the ******* part of the equation to perfection.

Pedro treated the press like they were *******s. He went a whole season giving them the silent treatment, now he wants respect. Ask johnny damon, or a cal ripken about the press. They are decent guys, nice guys and guess what the press treats them well.

 

So before we balme the press for everything think about the fact that they are just a bunch of pot bellied wanna bes doing their job, they are just guys and exepct to be treated like human beings.

Sarasox is right, f*** Pedro, he was a great pitcher, but doesn't know when to shut his mouth. I mean Nomar didn't talk s*** when he was kicked out the door, and he was forced out a lot worse.

 

Pedro leaves with a WS Championship, and I believe Boston's management was supportive of Pedro, even Schilling said "You can't get better when you lose a Pedro Martinez" That sounds like a compliment, Pedro, not disrespect.

One thing we know about Pedro is he is going to run his mouth, so give the guy a break. At least he is honest about what he thinks and is going to give us the real story, no matter how misguided it is.

 

I'm not saying people can't see things their way too. Just that his attitude is a known quantity and nothing he's saying is really a surprise given the circumstances. He LUCKED OUT REAL BIG this year with the player's market skyrocketing the way it did and his prima-donna-ish-ness is coming to the fore.

 

Let's see how he sounds when he's 11-13 with a 4.25 ERA from the lack of an infield and abysmal run support. He's a Met now, and deserves all that comes with it.

Ty Sizzlin, I thought the same thing. I think he runs his mouth a lot, but like many people think, I don't give a s*** what the players do off the field, as long as they help us win. Pedro may not know when to close his mouth, but he did so much for us. My point being, if Pedro were to come to Boston to pick up his ring, I would be on my feet clapping. Would anyone else join in with me? I would sure hope so. I miss Pedro and I really wish we kept him, but baseball is a business, and what has happened has happened. Oh well.

5 buck says the mets trade cameron for bullpen before the break. it's not like they need an amazing bullpen arm like gordon or any of the angel guys. they need 1 above average reliever, 1 good reliever and their starting pitching should all be able to go 6-7 on any given day.
