Renteria could not be reached for comment Monday but an associate who had spoken with him about his free agency indicated Renteria has little desire to accept an offer from the Detroit Tigers and, all things being equal, prefers remaining with the Cardinals. "It's important for Edgar to feel comfortable, and Edgar is comfortable with the Cardinals," the associate said. "Boston can be an uncomfortable place."
