I like this move bringing Ramirez up, I think he'll get some playing time this year, as with Shoppach. But will Shoppach, be a regular? I think it's looking more and more likely. Do you want to start Sandy Martinez?

Well I meant, if you want to bring a player up for a September call up, he'd have to be on your 40 man roster.

Man... I'm all confused... So they have 31 of 40 spots filled on the 40 man roster. So 9 spots remain. Why not fill the last 9 with players you want to keep? Or does it have something to do with FAs and holding them an open spot?

I don't think the FA's are on the 40 man roster, so yes they are leaving those spots for them
