Mendoza's In

I just got this off redsox.com. I am so friggin restless, waiting for the series to start I went over to read what they ahd to say and saw this....I guess they want 11 arms and youk, got the shaft.

 

I guess we have pokey, but els had convinced me that we need an additional infielder, but with the longer series I guessthis makes sense, as well.

 

 

 

The Red Sox will make one roster change for the start of the American League Championship Series, adding a veteran reliever in Ramiro Mendoza who is no stranger to postseason baseball, or, for that matter, Yankee Stadium.

In the Division Series sweep against the Angels, the Sox went with 10 pitchers and 15 position players. They decided they needed as much pitching as possible against the fearsome lineup of the Yankees, so rookie third baseman Kevin Youkilis won't be on the roster for this round.

 

The yankees suck, I hate the yankees, I want us to crush 'em.

I guess this should have gone under the roster section, but I thought it was newsworthy enough to be separate.

This move makes sense. Mendoza has boatloads of playoff experience and has pitched well. As sad as it is to see youk get left off the roster, he'll have many more chances ahead of him.

This is the best news yet! I'm so glad they decided to go with Mendoza. His stats speak for themselves. I wish Youk was still on the roster though. It would be nice to have another solid glove over at third just in case. And he has a better bat than Pokey. It begins tomorrow...

And Lots of experience winning championships... he was a Yankee, what can I say
