If Texas never went into slumps I'd think they'd be in first. The Yankees were simply outplayed by the Angels.

When they were in a slump. I would rather be in a 2 week slump then play 500 for 2 months like the sox.

Let's try to focus on the last month and not two months ago, the Red Sox are finally starting to play with the top defense, pitching, and hitting. The Yankees aren't in any of these categories. The Yankees bullpen is atrocious outside Rivera, and Gordon. The defense is abysmal espically in the outfield, and forget about the HR's against Schilling, Pedro, and Lowe. The Yankees will have to get basehits, something their last in. Oh yeah, the D-Rays have a lower ERA.

And thats exactly why they have the best record...look until you are 3 ahead which should happen by the end of this week, I won't say you have a better team.

oh gotcha, getting too late, and I doesn't seem either of us is going to change each others minds. Oh well, good points empire, but since I'm a Sox fan I don't think I'll change my mind.

yankees? You beat you re nearest competitor, you should be completely happy.

I am happy, and I'm by no means complaining. I stopped looking at the yankees score after the 3rd inning and just focused on a win against Aneheim. 3.5 games looks miiiiighty purdy when your team is playing so well.

3.5 up, 3.5 back. :D

Something I wanted to add. I was paying a lot of attention to Sveum yesterday, and he had more than his fair share of calls to make at 3rd. I think he did a nice job, he sent runners home when he was supposed to, and he made a nice call keeping manny at 3rd with no outs in the later half of the game. He eventually scored.

I dont know if he has redeemed himself, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Hey guys!

So, it brings me GREAT pleasure to admit I was wrong. The Red Sox won the first battle of the bullpens with Anaheim, and that's AWESOME!!

8 in a row, we've tied the season series with Anaheim. We need a win tonight to take it!

3.5 up on Anahiem, 5 up on Texas in the WC. Things are looking good right now!

Hey crespo: Please don't hate me for picking Anaheim. I was trying to be as objective as possible, trying to separate myself from my team (Red Sox) when predicting the game...but of course in no way was I ever hoping Anaheim would win! As a Red Sox fan I think and hope they can win EVERY game just like you...but when I did my analysis I tried to do it from a nuetral perspective!

yeah, you really cant predict the sox to win every game, its way too biased. when predicting games, its really tough to be fair when you are a fan of one of the teams

Thanks Yankshater.

Anyway, it thrills me that I was wrong in my prediction of the outcome... BUT Anaheim didn't use their best relievers (Percival, Rodriguez) yet. Let's hope to keep it that way!

Neither starter had it last night. Sele gave up 7, Bronson 5. Ugly game if you ask me, BUT chances are Bronson wouldn't be starting for Boston in the playoffs (assuming we get there, which I believe we WILL).

It just seems like the Red Sox offense hits EVERYONE right now. Sele had a 1.80 ERA in his last 3 starts, we hit him for 7 runs. Scott Shields 7-2 with a 3.52 ERA on the season...we score 5 runs on him, too.

Kevin Gregg did pretty well against us, but by then it was too late!
