    Crochet leads AL starters in innings pitched, and Chapman is right up there for AL relievers in innings and games pitched.

    But the main reason Crochet and Chapman are Boston's two best players is that they're strikeout pitchers... and that by far makes them most valuable, as it limits the perforated defense from touching the ball (except throwing it around the horn after Ks).
