  1. Until We see a sign of life they are DOA, have they actually had a big hit yet this season, because I CAN NOT recall any game situation in the first 25 games where I can say, "they needed that". Maybe since the Red Sox are constructed more like a high school team, they can ask MLB to remove the walls in the ballparks so that the gappers can be Home Runs. 13 FRICKEN HOME RUNS, in 25 games(I wanted Alonso) soon teams like the Yankees and Dodgers will be hitting that many in a week
  2. Just another chance for Cora to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory, with his awesome bullpen moves like last night, where he chose to keep Whitlock chewing bubblegum in the pen, while two arsonists did their work. Cora is a effin genius. Bello??? Oh dear God i felt compelled to compare him to Dave Morehead, and then I Remembered that Morehead did pitch a no hitter for a very bad Red Sox team of the early 60's, think it was 63 off the top of my noggin. Bello the way he tries to get too cute with batters seriously reminds me how the Oil Can used to drive me nuts trying to nibble at the corners with .230 hitters.
  3. Well Durbin is well on his way to being a journeyman if that. i really do not care who they put at 3b, anybody other than this failed peewee. There was only one Pedroia.
  4. Yeah no doubt, I just threw it out there out of utter frustration with this bunch. I play fantasy baseball so I can track the pitchers for betting purposes but the Red Sox are not alone with players with bizarre stat lines at this point. Tatis is one of them and would fit right in with the Sox with exactly ZERO HR'S to this point, What has happened to Guerreo's power, and Witt another with zero hr's. Henderson with the Orioles not hitting his weight but does have 7 dingers. I am not sure how much the Robot ump is effecting players heads if at all, but it has been a strange month in general in baseball
  5. They are making it extremely hard to remain upbeat about this team. Duran was a plus last night, lets see if he can break the power of the giant black hole at the top of the batting order, sucking the life out of this team. personally I HAVE SEEN ENOUGH of Durbin in a Red Sox uni, and I am all for giving Capra, or Romero a shot at 3B. Of course I know it will not happen but I would not mind if they traded Anthony and Mayer to the Padres for Tatis, move Story to 2B, Tatis would play SS until Arias is ready to take over, outfield traffic jam solved and a much needed right handed bat in the lineup.
  6. Teams don't even need an outfield against them.
  7. STORY Almost perfect on the night 0-3 with just 2 K's preventing perfection in futility.
  8. To pile on, the Sox biggest deficit they have comeback from and actually got The W is ONE RUN, yep 1-0 against the cards counts as their only come from behind win this year. I know during the 70's and 80's if they played like this, the fans might have torn the place down.
  9. nope not liking him, hell I did not even want to sign him
  10. That makes him 4 for 4 lifetime with that Home Run against Ranger
  11. I detest that the nerds are running the planet right now, they suck the joy out of everything they touch, they are in the process of destroying the game as we knew it. Screw the numbers, bad is bad, and the Red Sox are hitting like crap. Most are being payed way TO MUCH too suck this badly!. Keep on giving out 7 and 8 years contracts to kids that have not come close to earning it, brilliant strategy.
  12. My Mom was a big Yankee fan, Dad was just a Sox hater to be the antagonist against his sons. Been a Sox fan since 62, but my first memory of a ballgame was in the right field grandstands at the old Stadium. I remember for two reasons, the size of the out field, and my dad busted a finger that day from a line drive foul ball. The Yankees starting pitching I See as a huge plus for them. The Sox are playing so lamely right now, easy three game sweep unless a small miracle occurs.
  13. It does no good to dwell in the past, as far as what was done or not done. For better or worse we sat at the table, and now all we can do is hope that somehow they turn around. To me personally they are not the Boston Red Sox anymore and have not been since they let JD. Martinez go, and have YET TO REPLACE his bat in the lineup. The biggest advantage the Red Sox have, they have lost sight of even though it stares at them each day they play at home. This base to base crap SUCKS!
  14. The Sox have looked against Fried in the past just how they have looked the whole year so far against anyone pitching against them, so don't anyone hold their breath hoping the bats are going to come north all of a sudden. There I SAID it, spring training tells you nothing. Abreu the only one who kept it somewhat going when the games started, Tonights Cy Young has held the ReD sox to an average of .203, 16 for 79, 4 doubles, 2 home runs(both Story) 5 walks and 27 of the AB's punchouts. The season is getting ugly quickly, the players better start playing if they want to save their managers job. I just can't see Cora being the one to light the fire under this group, he would rather be their friend then their manager.
  15. They are getting swept, you can count on it. Yanks 9 hits, the way the Sox are playing they will be lucky to get 9 hits over the 3 games!!!
  16. Mr Wizard and his magic wand trying yet again to pinch hit them out of the slump.
  17. I really hope we are not seeing another Fear Strikes Out thing with the Red Sox and Duran. If the rest of them are being given the playing time to work out their slumps, He should be afforded the same. Look I WILL GIVE A PASS to 3 out of the 9, everyone knows which 3, cf,rf,1b. He is being singled out of the 7 by Cora for the failure of the group. To me the biggest disappointment up until now given all the hype , it is Roman Anthony with his weak sauce 225 avg and even weaker 4 runs batted in, with 1 goner. It sure would be nice if they started hitting as a team, because otherwise it is going to be a long hot summer.
  18. It is the lefty Sama something up from beautiful Worcester Massachusetts, top of the afternoon people, first game that matters this year, got the cold ones ready, my mistress Mary Jane always is nearby. anything less then 2 wins here is a big fat L. A sweep seems beyond reason, given the first 22 games.
  19. We will say this, do we think Story earned the crazy money he was paid to get hurt and play subpar ball throughout the contract, HELL NO. Bello is another example of getting WAY OVERPAID for just how much he has mastered his craft. Roman Anthony needs to hit either in the 3 hole or clean up. Put Duran back leading off, If the season continues as it has started without a doubt Story is gone at the trade deadline, hell he might be gone no matter what, even if they start jelling. All of a sudden I see Free Agent, and the word Union in a different light. The Owners WILL WIN in the coming lockout. Contracts should be year to year performance driven with each player on every team having the ability to earn as much money as he can produce. Change is coming to MLB. Everyone knows the "economy" is just one giant leveraged bubble. The Owners should take back their assets, and cut their costs through a new pay scale saving them Capital which they can return to the fans through cut ticket prices(we are talking over 50% in most cases) and concessions at the Ballpark. There had to be a ceiling somewhere in the Monopoly game, with the mockery the Dodgers are making of the "open market"" push back was 100% assured.
  20. Just happy that they somehow at least split the 4 games, we all know what the real issue is, if you are going to play Punch and Judy baseball, you better be able to string hits together. This lineup is stacked with folks hitting the likes of .187, .164, .152, .182 and .217, thats 5 out of 9 spots, in the bottom of the 7th inning of the 22nd game of the season. Already an 1/8 of the season 13 HR's in 22 games shouts what the Red Sox are not. The longer it takes for them to get it together as a team, the deeper their hole will get, better work toward .500 first. 12 hits. yep going to need a lot more just like it. Gray most likely headed for a D.L. Tolle or Oviedo?
  21. So many things wrong where does one start? Even last year I could not understand them using Roman to bat leadoff, now I am convinced he is not a leadoff hitter. Durbin can't hit his damn weight anywhere in the lineup., They make every pitcher look like Cy Young. 0- 13 now when they do not get a Q.S. A serious bummer that Story did not take his op-out He will be gone before the season ends. Monasterio, and Kiner-Falefa on the same roster and they want to sell they are contenders??? The rest of baseball is playing home run derby and the Red Sox got a line up that reminds me of the 60's White Sox teams who had absolutely no power hitter. Mark Cuban please buy the Boston Red Sox.
  22. Of course Crochet is headed to the DL, can see it from here, Can we get the Patriots to camp please.
  23. Fire Cora, make Veritak the manager, and light a fire in the clubhouse, I can not take another season of him telling us they are a good team. with 13 runs scored in one inning shy of 5 games, they are lucky they even are 1-and 4.
