  1. I wonder if Freeman likes Boston.
  2. The Braves have taken a commanding 3-1 series lead. I wouldn’t be surprised if that series never comes back to Atlanta.
  3. They need to reset and punch Houston in the mouth. It doesn’t have to be from the beginning, but they need a big inning by the middle of game six and take it from there. One game at a time.
  4. I’ll never forget the 2003 SoX team. Skanks beat us on such a fluke that year. It was all down hill for Booney ever since. Seeing him get bounced from the post season or not even make the post season year after year never gets old. Same story every year too. “I believe in those guys. We can get over the hump next year. We’re hurtin’ right now…” blah blah blah.. the guy is a poor excuse for a manager. The team has more money wrapped up with two ball players than Tampa’s entire payroll. I have no idea how or why anyone could root for that team. So who do they need to pick up this year? The eventual WS MVP? I thought it was Corey Seager?? Freddie Freeman perhaps??? Have I mentioned what a mistake they made with demolishing their old stadium? The funny thing is that they still call the new one “the house that Ruth built”. Talk about a reach. Polo Grounds gone. Ebbets gone. Yankee stadium gone. Hell.. they even got rid of Shea. That’s NY sports for ya. Let’s go Bklyn Nets??? Maybe if they have like five teams for each sport they’ll win rings on a regular basis. Maybe.
  5. Overreacted? It was a topic on sports radio programs, articles touched on it as well after last night’s debacle. This isn’t a knee jerk reaction. Nobody is a prisoner of the moment with this take. Diaz missed 23 calls last night including calls in key spots. You want to just wave it off? Fine. JD was robbed of a walk and Nate was robbed of getting out of the 8th inning. FACTS. If you look at my initial post, I stated that I would rather keep the human element rather than switch to tech. The game would change considerably (many feel for the better) if the change was to be made. I’d probably hate it at first but it would eliminate the frustration that most of us feel after watching an ump call a post season baseball game like he had nothing to lose.
  6. Robo-Umps have been a topic of discussion for quite some time around the entire league. If you don’t think Laz Diaz had a big part in the SoX losing last night then you should check yourself for a pulse.
  7. This team is going to have to show some mental toughness on the road.
  8. The boys will respond in game six.
  9. As some other posters have mentioned. None of us should be or would be surprised if the SoX pull this series out. It’s a humbling game. Hoping we can turn the tide in game six. Backs are against the wall so.. hopefully they leave everything out on the field in game six and seven. Later guys.. GO SoX! PS - F U Laz Diaz
  10. It’s really was. Bizarre.
  11. I’m not denying that at all. I wouldn’t put winning the next two past this team. That said.. we have to give some credit to Houston so far. They’re giving us all we can handle.
  12. In times like this I have to remind myself not to get pissed off about something I can’t control. The SoX dug themselves a hole. The last two games have been frustrating to watch.
  13. Sale came to pitch today. Body language is good.
  14. If Diaz IS the ump today I expect the Astros to complain this time. Just sayin’.
  15. Let’s all understand that this series is still very winnable. We all went from flying that amazing kite in the sky after game 3, to we are now behind the 8 ball after game 4. Sale is due for a good outing. Why not?? The Sox can take this series in 6 and then we can all start worrying about the Braves or Dodgers. Let’s turn the page after that ******** last night and take the W today! GO SoX!
  16. Maybe NATURAL light will help the Ump’s vision. MAYBE. Maybe not.
  17. I think that there would be at first. A lot of whining and moping that the game is not true baseball anymore. Baseball is lost, baseball is not roboball.. blah blah. After a season or two though I think it would be accepted and praised.
  18. Yes or no? MLB doesn’t want to go there.. no way. The technology is there and in place but implementing this would be extremely controversial. Adjusting the strike zone for the size of the hitter, etc. Question. Do you honestly want to see umps taken out of baseball? Should we have technology take over effective 2022? My answer is NO. Terrible calls have been a part of baseball since the 1800s. Leave it as is.. even tho I wanted to smack Diaz in the face after last night’s charade of a game behind the plate.
  19. The game was over when Altuve tied the game in the 8th? Really? Did you just stop watching the game at that point? Woke up to see some interesting takes this morning.
  20. I’m looking forward to game five and after game four.. I think the team is itching to get back out there for some payback.
  21. He was all over the place last night. Umps like that cheapen post season baseball and I’m tired of it. It’s sad that we’re talking about this right now but unfortunately it played a significant part in the outcome of the game. Let’s see what the umps have in store for game five.. at this point it’s turning into a crapshoot.
  22. That pitch gets called appropriately and the top of the inning comes to a close with a 2-2 score. It’s just that simple.
  23. It sure is and that missed call changed the entire game.. unfortunately. Worst umpiring I’ve seen thus far in this post season. Nate was cheated out of a good outing.
