    It is a reset year yes, but losing some key relievers has made this season a far cry from 2018. Sale and Price have been erratic so you have to expect that the fan base will be out for blood in expecting a few additions right? I don't think that there is anything strange with having those expectations.

    I have been calling for this team to add two BP arms for the stretch run. Cashner is doing ok.. but I just don't think it is enough AS IS meaning everyone performs on the same level as they have since April) but all of us know that quite frankly.. CHRIS SALE needs to make a statement. A statement on the mound instead of behind the mike after yet another substandard outing. He needs to go out and fckn' dominate the Skanks this weekend. If for no other reason then to build some confidence going forward. He does that, and maybe has another good subsequent start and then maybe some of us will start to believe that this team is capable in 2019.

    I know. I'm just so tired of watching this team get out pitched this year. It's been a damn nightmare.

    So now the question on everyone's mind is who will it be? Who will be the guy(s) that step up in our pen? Who will make a stand and make management look good for NOT striking a deal for additional arms? Who? Hembree? Walden? Barnes? Workman? Eovaldi? Brewer? Wright? Management better be writing their pep talks.

    We need RP.. two arms. Two! I’m not even going to get mad when this comes back to shorten our season. It’s the proverbial nail in the coffin for 2019.

    You have to figure that the Astros are the favorites in the AL.. although I’d hate to play Cleveland right now.

    It doesn’t always work out as planned. The FO doesn’t get paid to tweak the team and make moves from time to time? Anyone who has been watching the SOX this year knows that they have one glaring weakness.

    Wow! NOTHING! Not one f***in’ move. Why should any of us care about 2019 at this point? We all know what this team’s undoing will be. Cora just a few minutes ago: “There was a lot of communication. I don’t know how close we were or not. At the end of the day, we decided we’d stay put.” Well..... there you have it folks.

    About an hour left... if no moves are made then I don’t know what to say. Extremely disappointing.. especially with this offense.

    I don’t even know what to think about this team’s playoff chances. How can you expect to contend with this pitching staff?

    100% truth... however, our pen is just.. it has absolutely no business making an appearance in the post season. None. It’s a disaster waiting to happen and I can already see the posts in this site about how nothing was done at the trade deadline. Our starting pitching isn’t strong enough to have a s*** pen.
