  1. Martinez had the best change up I have ever seen.. but compare Schilling's post season stats to some of these other guys. Its a crime that he isn't in the Hall of fame. The best strikeout to walk ratio in MLB history is the icing on the cake.
  2. The Kershaw era in LA has been nothing but fool's gold in the post season. Perhaps the greatest reg season pitcher that ever lived. Sounds kinda funny but, oh so true.
  3. To be clear, I am referring to the original film, not the remake. I thought that the remake was not nearly as good.
  4. Pet Sematary was a bad movie? I thought it was badass actually.
  5. This team’s “bad luck” started in April. Let’s give them their due credit and attention. The focus and execution just hasn’t been there from the very beginning of the year.
  6. So all you need is three innings per game from your staff in order to win the WS? Please come back down to planet Earth.
  7. I’ve been saying this for about a month now.
  8. Wow.. you guys called it. Yikes.
  9. I remember John Candy was “The Polka king of the west” or something like that in Home Alone.
  10. I’ve been busy with life stuff recently but I just checked the standings and this team is 7.5 games back of making the WC. I didn’t know that it was that bad. That’s how fast it happens when you don’t play good ball from the beginning of the season. A few bad series down the stretch and that’s the season. Gunna watch some more games soon tho... hopefully we will see some new blood trying their luck.
  11. What’s up fellas.. how are the boys playin’ today?
  12. Yep. Time to start dusting ourselves off for 2020 and beyond. This season is finished as far as I’m concerned. I find it hard to even watch the games anymore. Such an inconsistent team for a sky high payroll. It’s been a tough year. Still enjoying 2018 in the back of my mind though.
  13. This season is one long agonizing death.
  14. Yes. Well the Overlook was haunted (I haven’t read the book) but not to the same extent as it was in the book I assume. Those two little twin girls... fast forward... two old women get up in room 237 when Jack goes to investigate. Jack at the bar.. “I’d give anything for a drink. I’d give my goddamn SOUL for just a glass of beer.” Then Lloyd appears, the liquor appears, the ghosts appear. From that moment on.. the Overlook uses Jacks weakness (alcoholism) against him in order to manipulate the hell out of him. Extraordinary stuff.
  15. See, I consider The Shining to be the greatest big budget horror film ever made. (Alien, The Thing, The Omen, Rosemary’s Baby among a few other being in the top ten). The best low budget effort being The original Texas ChInsaw Massacre. But if you watch The Shining and fully comprehend what is going on.. it is absolutely mind boggling. There is so much that happens off screen. Kubrick and Nicholson made a heck of a team. King should stick to writing, and directors should stick to films. Simple as that.
  16. Hahaha! Oh absolutely. Talk about just a whole bunch of NOTHING. A few seconds of a black screen. To me it meant that he got whacked right there in that restaurant.. but yeah, that was such a disappointment. Loved the first five seasons. The entire sixth one contained like two decent episodes, the rest being filler.
  17. Well.. the movie Pet Sematary is fantastic. One of my favorite horror films.
  18. I read a few of his books but what is it with the suffering kids? Jeez. It’s obviously fiction but it’s difficult to stomach. Much more brutal than the movies portray.
  19. The writing is terrific. The general story and setup is great. Having a glimpse into the dog’s psyche?? all terrific. But... I honestly do not remember being this annoyed at a fiction writer. That poor little boy (Tad) dying suffering so much and dying in that manner.. the descriptions were absolutely brutal. It was very difficult to finish. That little boy shouldn’t have to pay for his trashy mother’s sins. I get it.. it’s King’s story, he can do what he wants, not every ending needs to be a happy ending e.g., I love Chinatown’s ending. But the way he described that poor little boy made me mad. Ughhh..
  20. Finished reading CUJO today.. Stephen King is an *******.
  21. Nice to see the SOX dominate.
  22. Again. If we lose, tomorrow is another day right? The sun will rise in the East and bring with it all sorts of new opportunities. Maybe if we lose by five or six runs today, it will inspire us to only lose by four tomorrow. You have to think BIG PICTURE. Strictly BIG PICTURE thoughts.
