  1. Fun fact: Ottavino leads the AL in holds.
  2. Well, to be honest, there was only one big O and that was Oscar Robertson.
  3. Thought that was a Dalbec HR. Btw, he didn't keep his facial hair for very long.
  4. If I'm not mistaken, the last SOX timely/clutch hit was Dugo's 2 run game winning HR, which seems like months ago.
  5. Or if Schoop dropped the 'c' and replaced the 'h' with an 'l', he'd be the Sloop John B.
  6. Well, the Rays have pretty much proven so far this season that timely hitting is sustainable. Whether timely and clutch are the same thing; that's where the argument would come in.
  7. Obviously, relief pitchers don't have their good stuff every time they're called, but Taylor has had his good stuff more than most this season.
  8. Timely=Clutch? A good thing to argue.
  9. Unwritten rule; never compliment a SOX pitcher until he's officially out of the game.
  10. Quality, not quantity. Or in baseball terms timely hitting; something the SOX haven't displayed in quite a while. I can't prove the following is true, but I know it is. The Rays lead the league in timely hitting.
  11. That last strike was pretty much unhittable.
  12. The SOX have 3 HR's, 3 doubles, 1 triple and 3 singles for a total of 4 runs, so far. That just doesn't seem to correlate.
  13. Good news: SAW got out of the inning. Bad news: 22 pitches.
  14. The one problem is that Kike enjoys batting leadoff and Dugo doesn't. Dugo has already made Cora aware that he doesn't want to bat lead-off.
  15. Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. But, the fact remains that both Kike and Renfroe have been very good acquisitions at a bargain price(based on what's being paid to players nowadays.)
  16. Hunter and Kike were relatively inexpensive pickups by Bloom. Kike is making 14 million over 2 years and Hunter is on one year 3.1 million dollar contract. Unfortunately, Bloom wasn't so lucky with Richards, who got a one year 10 million dollar contract. The only good thing about Richards' contract is that it's only for one year.
  17. The only time I'm shocked about E-rod's pitch count is when he doesn't have 90+ pitches after 5. But at least tonight he didn't have crooked number runs to go along with it.
  18. One could argue that Ted Williams was a two tool player. But, what two tools they were.
  19. Of the 5 tools speed is something you either have or don't have. It can't be a work in progress.
  20. He has the potential to have all the tools. His speed, his arm, and his fielding are 3 tools he has proven.
  21. That opposite field HR by Duran proved one thing; he is strong.
  22. Kike is making 3 million dollars less this season than Richards.
  23. Ted Williams once said that he never argued with an ump about a strike/ball call; he would just glance at them and they knew they were wrong.
  24. That was outside, but it doesn't matter because there is no strike zone anymore.
