  1. Worms are bringing a class action suit against JD for killing so much of their population.
  2. EO leads all AL pitchers in fWAR. 2nd is Cole.
  3. Maybe JD and a few others on the SOX also have injured wrists.
  4. Based on Bogie's last swing it appears his wrist is fine.
  5. Thanks for the info and I love the smell of coffee.
  6. Toronto leads MLB with a .281BA with RISP.
  7. JD performing his way back to the SOX next season.
  8. Maybe Duran has to change his last name to Duranez.
  9. Marwin in the line-up instead of Duran is wrong in so many ways. I thought the plan was bringing Duran up to face ML pitching.
  10. EO has an ERA against the AL East of 2.13 so far this season. So there's that.
  11. I'm going with my 'blind squirrel' pick tonight and predict Cordero hits a dinger.
  12. Off topic: Kimbrel, who was, perhaps, the best closer in baseball this season was inserted into the bottom of the 8th inning today as a set up pitcher for the White Sox regular closer. The White Sox had a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 8th, but after giving up 2 singles, Kimbrel then gave up a 3 run homer and the Cubs have tied it. Kimbrel didn't finish the inning. Point being is it a good idea to take a pitcher who has been programmed to be a closer his entire career and make him a set up guy? Obviously, it wasn't a good idea today. Btw, as a closer for the Cubs this season before the trade deadline Kimbrel had only given up 1 HR.
  13. "SOX are still in the postseason hunt." Similar to hunting a wild boar unarmed(pitching); when you confront the boar, what are your chances of defeating that boar and going on to the next one? Slim and none.
  14. "Incredibly shallow in the starting pitching department." That would pretty much define most of the season, so far.
  15. I wonder if he's any relation to Ponce?
  16. The ERA and WHIP surprises me. I thought the SOX would be closer to 30th in both. That the SOX rotation has given up more hits than any other rotation doesn't surprise me at all.
  17. Concerning the upcoming 4 game series in Toronto: Good news: There can only be 15,000 fans in the ballpark. Bad news: No chance of rainouts. Now that the magic and mojo are gone, the SOX only have reality, and reality won't be their friend.
  18. Ted was in real life what John Wayne could only pretend to be in movies.
  19. I define 'great athletes' as individuals who excelled at more than one sport. In that respect, I would place Bo Jackson 2nd to Jim Brown, but obviously, that's just my opinion. Another, whose name hasn't been mentioned, is Dave Winfield, who was also an excellent college basketball player at Minnesota.
  20. "Gibson doesn't come close." Besides having an exceptional career in baseball, including his winning the NL MVP in 1988, Mr Gibson was inducted into the college football hall of fame in 2017. He still holds pass receiving records at his alma mater Michigan State. So, I'd say he comes pretty close. And almost forgot; before Gibby had his serious leg injury, he was one of the fastest runners in baseball, who could also hit for power.
  21. There's a reason the Tigers have that won/lost record.
  22. Maybe the SOX can build some momentum after tonight, although they should have scored more than 4 runs. Baby steps, I guess.
  23. If I was asked who was the greatest athlete I ever saw, I would respond with Jim Brown. Besides being a phenominal football player, he was also a fantastic lacrosse player and an excellent college boxer. In fact. many lacrosse rules were changed because of Mr Brown.
  24. Getting the feed from Detroit and one of the guys in the booth is Kirk Gibson. One of the best athletes of his generation. A great baseball player and a great football player. Similar in that respect to Bo Jackson.
