  1. Lonborg suffered a severe leg injury while skiing after the '67 season. He was never the same after that.
  2. Lonborg in '67 had a pretty good 'mean' streak. Pedro, also.
  3. True; it was meant to create interest for more teams, but the motivating factor, like always, was generating more money.
  4. One last note about HIGH NOON. John Wayne was offered the lead role, but turned it down because he felt the movie was an allegory against 'blacklisting.' Wayne was an active supporter of 'blacklisting.' Btw, a very good film about 'blacklisting' in the early '50's is TRUMBO starring Bryan Cranston.
  5. The unique thing about HIGH NOON was that it was filmed to have the feel of 'real time.' The movie itself was 85 minutes long and the continuous action of the movie, based on the clock, was about 100 minutes long.
  6. My bad. You nailed it. You represent your avatar well. Btw, "deserves has nothing to do with it" actually makes my point about the SOX even better. Thanks for the correction.
  7. The ending of Red River ruined it for me.
  8. Great list. I would also add Pale Rider and Shane which are pretty much the same movie.
  9. Gives you a good excuse to watch that great movie again.
  10. In real life, the only team in the AL East that deserves to be in the PO's is the Rays.
  11. In the movie UNFORGIVEN, Gene Hackman said right before Clint Eastwood shot him "I don't deserve this." Clint responded "sometimes you get what you don't deserve."
  12. Good points you've made. Unfortunately I have no answers, other than my standard one. There are too many teams and not enough talent to fill them. This is also true in the other 3 major pro sports.
  13. I think this series answers that question.
  14. The SOX are supposed to hit. Everything else is a crap shoot.
  15. Considering mediocre starting pitching, below average defense, Covid, bad baserunning, and now a piss poor BP, my question is "how the hell are the SOX still in the hunt." Submit all answers to Ripley's believe it or not.
  16. Well, I did accuse Judge of 'neighing' on 1st base yesterday.
  17. There really isn't a strike zone anymore. The MLB chUMPIRES have made certain of that.
  18. VAZ caught the foul tip and dropped it transferring it to his right hand. Fat ass West blew it and Coma Cora sat in the dugout with his finger up his arse.
  19. That was just best case scenario.
  20. So instead of 162 games the SOX will play 163 games.
  21. Don't you live under a bridge? Are you stealing someone's cable?
  22. Like I said, the SOX have as much right in the PO's as I have playing the violin at Carnegie Hall.
  23. Cora didn't even respond. Does he actually watch the game?
  24. That foul tip was caught and can't be challenged. FU Joe West.
  25. Calling this little league is being too kind.
